Shooters has a long-standing tradition of opening early just to show the NFL Super Bowl live broadcast , which occurs Monday morning in Japan - typically the first Monday in February .

Shooters is a popular venue for watching the game among expats and local football aficionados alike. Entry to view the game includes a full breakfast buffet, and open soft-drink bar.

The event is popular, so reservations are highly recommended.

The 60th Super Bowl (2026) will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game will start around 8:30 am on Monday, February 9th (here in Japan).

Every two years when the Olympics rolls around (the summer and winter games), you can be assured that Shooters will be showing all the big events, and some of the smaller ones too. And what better place to watch international sports competition than an international sports bar right here in Nagoya?

If we're open, we will definitely be showing the Olympics . We may also open outside of regular hours for certain high-demand games. Be sure to call ahead or check with our friendly staff.

Preference is given to popular demand as to which games to televise, but with over a dozen TV screens and multiple feeds, we can broadcast multiple events simultaneously. If we have the feed, and you want to see it, we can probably accommodate. Never hurts to ask!

At Shooters Sports Bar & Grill, we have been helping Canadian expats celebrate their Thanksgiving for over twenty years!

Every October, we offer a seasonal turkey dinner plate (with all the trimmings) over the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday weekend. And it is always a holiday weekend since Canadian Thanksgiving falls annually on the 2nd Monday in October which coincides nicely with Sports Day in Japan.

Our American patrons can enjoy a taste of the holidays (think of it as a warm up for their own Thanksgiving in November), just as they would back home. Brits, Aussies, and Kiwis can enjoy a great roast dinner. And, those from other nations, including Japan, can enjoy a tasty cultural experience.

Thanksgiving fare varies from region to region and family to family, but roast turkey remains the most popular centerpiece to both U.S. and Canadian Thanksgiving dinners.

2025 Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner

The 2025 Turkey Dinner will be on offer for ￥4,500 (+¥700 for extra turkey), and includes:

Roast Turkey with Cranberry Sauce & Gravy
Country Stuffing

Two years ago, I left the canals of Amsterdam and, with my Japanese wife and kids, embarked on a new life in Nagoya, Japan.

A Passion For Hospitality

For me, hospitality has always been more than just a career - it's been my passion since I was 16, when I began bartending in a small Dutch village. Over the years, I worked my way through every part of the industry, from bustling bistros in Paris to Michelin-starred kitchens in the Netherlands. But my time at Amsterdam's Okura Hotel truly shaped my journey, introducing me to Japanese hospitality's meticulous detail, warmth, and respect. Little did I know that one day I'd be living in Japan, embracing those same principles and values.

You Can Feel Right at Home

Fast forward to today, and I've found my second home at Shooters Sports Bar & Grill - an American sports bar in Nagoya. This isn't just any bar. Shooters is a gathering place that captures a friendly, international vibe that feels both familiar and fresh, at the same time. Finding a Home Away from Home

I remember when I first moved to Japan. It was not my first time leaving my home country, but when your home is on the other side of the world, it can be a daunting challenge regardless. One of the key factors that makes or breaks a successful venture when living so far away from home is finding community. Today I want to talk about the community I have found.

Shooters Sports Bar was the third bar I ever went to after I moved to Nagoya. I discovered it when I was looking for neat places to enjoy a cigar in Nagoya . I was delighted to find that not only was there an American bar in the city, but that they also seemed to have a culture where I could bring an old hobby of mine and share it with some of the other guests. I'll never forget that welcoming feeling of the atmosphere and the staff, who listened to many of my wild stories while serving me my favorite whiskeys.

"Having a place where you can unwind and know that you'll be treated as a friend is often what makes living so far from home bearable."

What was a surprise to me, was how tight knit the community was. Having lived in large cities abroad before, I had of course engaged with different social circles, but meeting so many people who had been in and out and around this place for so many years was very comforting to me. Especially as I was dealing with homesickness. I met folks who had been enjoying this space for over 20 years, meeting new faces and of course spending time with the other regulars who had become like a family.

Family, that was what I was lacking having moved out here. Japan can sometimes feel like a lonely place if you spend too much time focused only on work. Having a place where you can unwind and know that you'll be treated as a friend is often what makes living so far from home bearable. As time went by, I found myself returning again and again, until I was one of those regulars. Months passed and before I knew it, I had joined the Shooters team ! A bit of a wild circumstance, but just like when I first went as a guest, I was welcomed with open arms.

Ever since, I have had a blast spending time with my family here, in my home away from home. Whether it's cheering for the Japan national team with our guests, or singing songs with our community on a busy weekend, I can say proudly that I get to work hard and play hard alongside the people I care about. When you find your community, embrace it. Continue branching out and making new friends, because you never know when you'll stumble into lifelong friendships. It can be scary to put your trust in people in a new place, but trust me, if you're feeling down or stressed out, you can reach out to the people you've confided in. Knowing that you're not alone and that you have a place you can go to feel part of the family is what will keep you going.

Most of you will be familiar with the national/prefectural Go To Eat campaign aimed at getting more people back eating out and supporting local business. You can buy discounted vouchers (typically at any Family Mart location) and use them to pay for your meal.

With the Go To Eat vouchers, 25% is bourne by the government (ex. a voucher with value of ¥12,500 can be purchased for just ¥10,000). The vouchers can be used instead of or together with cash to pay for your meal. Be careful, however, you cannot receive change back from any unused portion of your voucher. Be careful not to purchase a voucher that exceeds the price of the meal you want to eat.

When Shooters Sports Bar & Grill's dining/bar area became smoke-free , we still wanted to welcome our friends and patrons who enjoy a good smoke. So, we created a fully-contained, well-ventilated smoking lounge within our premises. We call it, The Havana Room .

You can pop in for a quick puff of your cigarette and get right back to your family & friends in the main hall. Heck, it beats going outside and standing in the hot/cold/rain. Plus, you can't bring your drink to the street, but in the Havana Room, we've got you covered - literally!

When we built the Havana Room, what we really had in mind was for our smoking lounge to be a place to relax and enjoy a quality smoke . The lounge is decked out with tables, chairs and stools so you won't be just standing around. And, to help you make the most of your visit, we have everything you need to enjoy a fine cigar or tasty shisha . You can even pair them with some fine spirits or an all-you-can-drink special.

Electronic Dart Board at Nagoya's Favorite Sports Bar

How could we call ourselves a sports bar if we didn't have a dart board? Right?

Not to worry, at Shooters we do have an electronic dart board for you to enjoy some friendly competition with friends, family, or fellow patrons.

The board is available to use most any time we are open (as long as we aren't packed for a televised game or that section isn't booked out) and just takes a few coins to get a game going. And a little secret we want you to know: free credits are added daily and available to be used by any customer until they are gone...so you'll want to get here early .

Multiple game variations are available such as 701, 501, 301, double-in, double-out, Around-the-Clock, etc., so you will be able to find just the game to suit your skill level or mood.

In North America, it is known as foosball . Elsewhere, they call it table football or table soccer . We don't care what you call it, but we wanted you to know that we have a foosball table at Shooters Sports Bar & Grill.

Foosball is an awesome game for any sports bar, where patrons are known to enjoy a good challenge and a little excitement. Foosball is suited to one-on-one challenges as well as teams, up to 3 per side, so it is great for group gatherings.

The game takes just a couple of coins and is available to play from open to close.

Come Early and Bring the Kids

Despite its moving parts and flying projectile, foosball is safe for children, and in fact, it is a great activity for the whole family. As our restaurant is completely smoke-free , don't hesitate to bring the kids. Segregated smoking room where smokers can relax

It's getting harder and harder for smokers to find a place to light up these days, but Shooters Sports Bar & Grill has the good people of Nagoya covered.

Our restaurant & bar features a fully-enclosed smoking room for the use of our patrons who enjoy a good smoke.

The Havana Room (fashioned after a Cuban-style cigar lounge) is spacious with ample seating. Of course, it is completely sealed off from the main, non-smoking area of our restaurant, but has excellent ventilation.

Perfect for the after-dinner cigar, cigarettes are also permitted. We even have shisha available upon request.

At Shooters Sports Bar & Grill, the health and well-being of our customers, staff, and community is our top priority.

We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our customers and staff as the situation evolves.

Here are some of the things we are doing to insure you can relax and enjoy your meal or drink:

We are cleaning areas that customers vacate immediately.
We are continuously sanitizing workstations, hard surfaces, equipment, door handles, menus, TV screens, and bathrooms.
We are avoiding unnecessary contact with customers and our staff. Sorry, no more hand shakes nor hugs!!
We are keeping customers and customer groups as far away from each other as possible.

Effective April 1st, 2020, Shooters Sports Bar & Grill is non-smoking, allowing our patrons to enjoy their meals in a safe, 100% smoke-free environment.

Being a family-friendly eatery, Shooters welcomes the change as Japan slowly catches up to the West with legislation aimed at protecting citizens from the dangers of second-hand smoke. Indeed, our ex-pat clientele have grown to expect a smoke-free dining experience - even the smokers!

English Lessons in Nagoya at Shooters

At Shooters Sports Bar & Grill you can not only enjoy delicious drinks and American cuisine but also improve your English skills by joining an English class.

There are many different kinds of English classes in Nagoya, but only at Shooters can you learn English at an authentic sports bar. But, that doesn't mean we don't take improving your English skills seriously.

The English school at Shooters is called Power English and true to its name we want you to feel powerful when learning English.

When Do These English Classes in Nagoya Take Place?

Lessons take place 6 days a week, daily except on Wednesdays. On weekdays, 3 classes are held in the evening from 6:30 p.m. so you can attend after work. On weekends, classes take place in the afternoon. Each lesson is 60 minutes long.

If you are shy or you want to improve very quickly, you can also sign up for private English lessons at Shooters on weekdays in the afternoon.

How Often Can I Attend a Shooters English Lesson?

You aren't sure how often you will be able to attend a class? No problem.

Attending Shooters English Lessons is very flexible. Either sign up for a monthly plan, with which you can join any 4 or 8 lessons a month, or buy a ticket for 25 lessons usable within 6 months or 50 lessons within one year. You can then join any class you want.

Learn English in Nagoya at whatever date and time fits your schedule best.

Where Are Shooters English Classes Held?

Don't worry. You won't have to practice your English in a crowded barroom. We have a special room set up just for these lessons. But, because sitting in a classroom isn't fun at all, our space is the opposite of boring.

The whole atmosphere is incredibly motivating, with colorful painted comic walls and inspirational quotes such as ‘ Life is too short to wait ’ and ‘T o improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often ’.

In that kind of atmosphere, you will want to come back again and again.

What Does an English Lesson at Shooters Look Like?

There are 3 different levels from beginner to intermediate and multiple experienced native teachers.

Power English wants to get you talking in English. For this reason, we have small groups and lots of opportunities for everyone to get their word in. But, balance is important and that's why you will also learn new grammar, words, and phrases.

But don't worry, we are also fed up with textbooks, and tests. That's why at Power English we do everything differently. There are no textbooks or tests. We focus on conversation, improving speaking and listening skills, and learning important grammatical points naturally from a native English speaker.

We don't want English learning to be boring. That's why our worksheets have funny sentences and we teach you slang, you will surely want to use when talking to your American, British, or Australian friends.

How Can I Attend This English School in Nagoya?

If you want to join Power English at Shooters you can start by signing up for a free trial class on the Power English website .

Shooters Sports Bar & Grill celebrates the cuisine of Greece with its line up of Greek food specials

There are not many Greek restaurants in Nagoya and so, Greek food is hard to find here in Central Japan. Which is too bad, as a Mediterranean diet is known to be quite healthy.

You can sometimes find a Greek Salad, with its savory feta cheese, here and there, but a good selection of Greek menu favorites is hard to come by.

That is, until now!

In addition to our already popular Chicken Souvlaki and Fried Calamari , Shooters has added four new items to our Greek Menu line-up. These tasty items have been created under the direction of Chef Archie Tsanis, a Greek national with Cezars Kitchen (a sister company to Shooters), so you can be sure they are authentically Greek and of the highest quality.

At Shooters Sports Bar & Grill, we are very community oriented, and have all of the facilities needed for your club meetings, seminars, game sessions, meet-ups, and more!

Many local businesses, clubs, organizations, and hobby groups regularly hold their meetings and gatherings right here at Shooters.

We have a private room available for such gatherings, that is equipped with multiple screens (including a large screen display), PA system, ample seating and tables, not to mention, direct access to the bar.

Depending on the degree of privacy (exclusive use) required, the day/time of use, the size of your group, and duration of use, etc., our meeting space can usually be used without a specific "room charge" (food or drink purchase appreciated, of course).

When you are ready to settle up your bill at Shooters Sports Bar & Grill, for your convenience, we accept all major credit cards and even a few obscure ones.

Some smaller restaurants in Japan still don't take credit cards and others discourage their use with unethical up-charges!

Our list of accepted credit cards includes:

Diners Club

Discover and Diners, in particular, are rare in Japan, so expat travelers may be pleasantly surprised to be able to use their preferred card.

And of course, at Shooters there are no extra charges levied when paying with credit card.

A large oven is not part of the typical Japanese household kitchen, and so most expats have to go without a proper oven as well. But that doesn't mean you have to go without the roast at your seasonal gatherings with family and friends. Let Shooters do the roasting , and you can just pick it up when it's ready . Most games don't line up with our business hours, but we will be showing lots of re-broadcast games when we are open. Some live games may be broadcast - check the listings for games that happen after 11:30 am on Saturdays or Sundays!

Pre-season Games

Shooters Sports Bar & Grill will be showing lots and lots of pre-season NFL game replays every night and afternoons on the weekend.
We don't list individual games in our event calendar , but we can usually accommodate individual game requests.

Regular Season

Of course, we will be showing as many regular season game replays as we can. Monday and Tuesday nights are especially good for catching the most recent games, but we will show game replays throughout the week.

2022 Super Bowl LVI

One thing for certain is, we will be showing a live broadcast of the 2022 Super Bowl (from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California) on Monday morning, February 14th (Japan Standard Time). Kick-off time to be announced.
